After making his debut in the NASCAR Camping World East Series two weekends ago, Craig Goess decided to return to his roots of Legends Cars this past Saturday night.

His return proved fruitful, as Goess made his way to Victory Lane in the 25-lap race held at Southern National Raceway Par (NC).

Goess started on the outside of row two for the main event, but by the completion of lap one, he was already leading the nine car field.  Goess had a straightaway lead when the caution came out on lap 11.  On the restart, Goess, once again, pulled away from the field and remained in the lead until the checkered flag.

“The car count was really down,” Goess said. “They didn't even let us qualify. We just drew for our starting positions which had me starting fourth. I got into the lead before we completed lap one by passing them on the outside. Then, it was pretty smooth sailing.”

Goess resumes his 2008 NASCAR Camping World East Series campaign at owa Speedway on May 18th.
