Craig Goess, Jr. and his No. 2 Greenville Toyota/Team ESR Development team head to South Boston Speedway this Saturday for the running of the NASCAR Camping World East Series’ third race of the season.

Goess has competed at “SoBo” several times in Legends Cars competition with great results and also a partaken in a few testing sessions.  After a disappointing outing in his last event at Iowa Speedway, Goess is anxious to return to a track in which he’s so familiar.
“I’m certainly familiar with South Boston,” said Goess, Jr.  “It’s a track I’ve been to several times and I’ve been able to pick up a few wins. It’s refreshing to head to a track where I’ve turned a number of laps and that should help me when we get there in the East car.”

The season certainly hasn’t started out the way Team ESR would have liked.  An incident took them out of contention at the season opener at Greenville-Pickens Speedway and an issue with the car’s handling stalled their efforts at Iowa Speedway last weekend.  But Goess knows their luck will turn around, and it may just happen at South Boston, where Goess has lots of experience.

“I’m sure hoping for a better weekend,” Goess continues.  “I’ll be able to test the car then head there knowing I have a good handle on the car.  Hopefully, everything goes well and we’ll be able to get a good finish to start some momentum heading into the rest of the season for the No. 2 Greenville Toyota/Team ESR Development team.”
The Strutmasters.com 150 gets underway at 7:30 p.m. EST from “America’s Hometown Track,” South Boston Speedway.  Practice begins at Noon, with Qualifying taking place at 4:45 p.m.
