Goess Gets Ready to Go To New Hampshire
Magic Mile Up Next for #2 Team
After having to step aside during the last NASCAR Camping World East Series event at Watkins Glen International due to an injury, Craig Goess, Jr. is anxious to return to the seat of his No. 2 Greenville Toyota/Team ESR Development Toyota Camry for the full distance of this weekend's race. Healed from the injury, Goess will return this Friday at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the running of the Heluva Good ® Summer 125.

While practicing at Watkins Glen a couple weeks ago, Goess developed a strain in his right arm. The injury forced him out of the No. 2 Greenville Toyota/Team ESR Development Toyota for a majority of the race, handing the driving duties over to veteran road racer Andy Lally. Goess has since had a couple weeks off and the injury has healed.
“The injury doesn't seem to be a problem,” said Goess. “It turns out we had a bad batch of shifters and that was what caused me to have such pain.”
All healed, Goess and his Eddie Sharp Racing team tested at Hickory Motor Speedway (NC) on Monday to shake down a couple cars and to better prepare Goess for his trek up to New Hampshire. Goess and the team also tested at New Hampshire over a month ago so they have plenty of notes to go by when they arrive on Thursday morning.
“Everything seemed to go well at Hickory,” said Goess. “We tested the brakes mainly and just wanted to make sure the cars weren't doing anything weird. When we tested at New Hampshire last month, the car felt really good. We're bringing the same car back and look to have a good run. New Hampshire is a good track and it's pretty fun with its long straight-aways and tight corners. Speed-wise, it's a big difference than what we're normally used to running.”
“I'm looking forward to getting in a car again on an oval,” Goess states. “We tested there; I'm familiar with the place and it should be an exciting weekend with the Sprint Cup and Modifieds being there with us. It's going to be a full house so it should be an interesting experience. We'll give it a shot and see what we can do with the No. 2 Greenville Toyota/Team ESR Development Toyota.”
Goess and his Eddie Sharp Racing team head to the New Hampshire Motor Speedway with practice and qualifying taking place on Thursday. The Heluva Good ® Summer 125 gets underway at 5:10 p.m. EST on Friday afternoon.
