Coming off his career-best finish in the NASCAR Camping World East Series, Craig Goess, Jr. heads in to this weekend’s race at Adirondack International Speedway (NY) with some momentum on his side.  Goess and his Eddie Sharp Racing team finished ninth in their last race at the Music City Motorplex (TN) and hopes to build on their best finish Saturday evening in the Edge Hotel 150 presented by Casella Waste Systems.
“We had our best race so far last weekend at Music City,” said Goess.  “I’m hoping we can continue the trend and have another good finish at Adirondack in the No. 2 Greenville Toyota/Team ESR Development Toyota.  The team just keeps getting better each week and we’re really building some consistency.”

As with most of the tracks on the NCWES schedule, Adirondack International Speedway is another facility in which Goess has never seen or competed.  He does, however, feel it’s comparable to another track which he’s raced.

“I think this track is similar to Columbus (Ohio),” said Goess.  “From what I’ve heard, the straight-aways are not really straight; it’s pretty flat and oval in shape.  I don’t know what to really expect though. It should be fun heading out for the first practice session and learning the track.”

Neither Goess nor his crew chief Johnny Allen has been to the Adirondack International Speedway, so there will be a bit of a learning curve for both, as they fine tune the setup on the No. 2 Greenville Toyota/Team ESR Development Toyota to Goess’ liking.
“We are really looking forward to going to Adirondack this weekend,” said Allen. “We had a great weekend in Nashville. We changed the setup and learned a lot that we think will transfer over well. The tracks couldn’t be more different, but I think this is a track that Craig will really sink his teeth into.”

Goess will be behind the wheel of the same No. 2 Greenville Toyota/Team ESR Development Toyota he piloted at Music City Motorplex.  Hopefully the results will be along the same line.

“It received a little body damage in Nashville, but I’m glad we’re taking the same machine to Adirondack,” explained Goess.  “The setup we had seemed to work well and hopefully, we can have the same result, if not better when we go this weekend.  I’m also looking forward to the cooler weather New York will bring us.”

The Edge Hotel 150 presented by Casella Waste Systems is a one-day event at Adirondack International Speedway.  Practice begins at 12:15 p.m. and runs until 2:15 p.m. Qualifying follows at 4:15 p.m. Thirty cars will roll off to start the race Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m. All times are EASTERN. The race will be broadcast LIVE on HDNet and tape delayed on SPEED on August 6th at 12:00 p.m. ET.
