Race: Garden State ARCA 150
ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards: 13 of 20
Track: New Jersey Motorsports Park
Date: August 15, 2010

Craig Goess assumed the lead of the ARCA Racing Series point standings last week with his six consecutive top-10 finish, adding to his nine this season.

This week, Goess and the No. 81 Greenville Toyota of NC Eddie Sharp Racing Toyota look to continue the trek to the championship at the New Jersey Motorsports Park road course. The track, located in Millville, N.J., is located 35 miles south of Goess' birthplace in Woodbury, N.J.

Craig Goess Fast Facts:

Last Race: Berlin Raceway:  Goess raced under the lights of Berlin Raceway last Saturday in a classic short-track competition in Marne, Mich. Racing hard to stay in the top-10 for most of the race, Goess crossed the finish line ninth. The finish proved to be enough to edge out Frank Kimmel for the top spot in points.

Goess at New Jersey: In Goess' only start at New Jersey Motorsports Park in 2009, he finished in the 10th position. Misty conditions, along with miscues on pit road, put Goess a lap down, but he was able to compete for a top-10 position.

2010 Road Course Racing: The 29-year-old driver competed in the first road course race this season at Palm Beach International Raceway, where he battled the track, his competitors and Mother Nature. Precipitation began to fall around lap 20, making the conditions slick around the course. The ARCA Racing Series officials deemed the conditions unsafe and called the race five laps short of the original distance. Goess crossed the finish line in the 13th position.

Rain or Shine: The No. 81 and the rest of the ARCA Racing Series field will race Sunday afternoon rain or shine. The teams will use the Hoosier Tires treaded "wet" tire if the track becomes slick. In the first road-course race this season at Palm Beach International Raceway, the "wet" tire was used during the rain-soaked race. The race at PBIR marked the first time in ARCA Racing Series history that a race continued under rain.

Racing World Magazine: Goess will appear on the weekly show Racing World Magainze, hosted by Corky and Donald on WSNJ Radio and QBC Cable TV live from Millville, N.J. He will be featured on the show on Thursday, Aug. 12 at 8:30 a.m EST.

In the Points: Goess moved into the first-place position in the ARCA Racing Series point standings with a ninth-place finish at Berlin Raceway. He now leads nine-time champion Frank Kimmel by 10 points, with seven races left in the ARCA Racing Series schedule.

Meet Craig Goess: Goess will participate in the ARCA Racing Series autograph session Sunday. Fans have the opportunity to meet Goess and the rest of the ARCA Racing Series drivers from 11:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. on the track. For more information, go to www.ARCARacing.com.

Listen live: The race will be broadcast live on the BAS Racing Network. Live scoring and timing will be available during practice, qualifying and the Garden Racing ARCA 150 on www.ARCARacing.com
