Race: Southern Illinois 100 presented by Federated Car Care
ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards: 16 of 20
Track: Du Quoin State Fairgrounds
Date: September 6, 2010

Craig Goess and the No. 81 Greenville Toyota of N.C. Eddie Sharp Racing Toyota return to dirt track at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds. Goess assumed the ARCA Racing Series points lead after his pole win and fifth-place finish at Chicagoland Speedway.

Craig Goess Fast Facts:

Last Race: Chicagoland Speedway: Goess took his second Menards Pole Award presented by Ansell last weekend at Chicago with a quick lap of 30.380 seconds (177.749 mph). Starting the race from the front row, the No. 81 quickly found bad luck when the Toyota began leaking oil. Two early, unscheduled pit stops forced Goess back to the 24th position. Adversity, however, was not going to stop the No. 81 Greenville Toyota of N.C. team as Goess made his way through the field with determination. He crossed the finish line fifth with the points lead.

Du Quoin History: Goess only has one career start at Du Quoin. In the 2009 season, Goess competed in the No. 81 and hit a streak of bad luck when he could not avoid a wreck in front of him in the first five laps of the race. Goess finished 34th.

In the Dirt, Again: The ARCA Racing Series heads to the second and final dirt track on the 2010 schedule. In August, Goess competed in Springfield, Ill., at the Illiinois State Fairgrounds. He picked up his best career finish on a dirt track with an 11th place finish. Monday's race at Du Quoin will mark Goess' fourth career start on a dirt track.

Leader of the Pack: Goess reclaimed the ARCA Racing Series point leader after his pole victory, laps led and fifth place finish at Chicago. He leads Frank Kimmel in second place by five points, Patrick Sheltra in third place by 10 points and Tom Hessert in fourth place by 25 points.  With five races to go, Goess looks to continue his consistency in his trek to the championship.

Listen live: The race will be broadcast live on the ARCA Racing Network on ARCARacing.com. Live scoring and timing will be available during practice, qualifying and the Southern Illinois 100.

Goess on running at Du Quoin State Fairgrounds:

"We overcame a lot of adversity at Chicagoland after having to pit early and often because of leaking oil. Dirt tracks historically have not been my forte, but our finish at Springfield proved that we are working hard to get to where we need to be on the dirt. I'm looking forward to the last five races of the season, and I think that the No. 81 Greenville Toyota of N.C. team is ready to compete until the end."
